RoboPicture -What?- This program connects to any Tibet/Sierra Imaging compatible camera and allows to take photos from the newton. You can also use ANY remote control to make the camera shoot. This program needs RoboPic.pkg to work. It will tell you also how many photos are left in the camera. -Who?- Is has only been tested with a UMP2000 and a sanyo VPC-X350 camera. Should work with any 2.0 Newton. -How?- Install RoboPic.pkg first, RoboPicture.pkg won't install if it's not present. The camera must have the lenses opened, my camera allows to take photos in recording mode or play mode, yours may vary. Put the camera in whatever mode you prefer before connecting it to the newton. Flash on/off, picture quality, etc... Once the camera and the newton are connected, launch the program and push the "Take a picture now" button. You can also check the "Allow Infrared Control" box and, pointing at your newton's IR port, push any button of any IR capable device. You can use a tv remote, a mobile phone, a palm, etc. Great for family photos! -Bugs and ToDo- The InfraRed port of your newton could not recevive any IR signal after a reset. To fix this, you need to try to beam a note or something and stop it after a few seconds. It should work now. I plan to make it take photos periodically on a configurable time basis. You want to see how a plant grows? :) I would like to make the process of taking a photo, download it and send it via email automatically. Maybe a NPDS plug-in... Your newton as a Web Cam Server! Please send me any not too obvious bug you find. Also anything you would like to see inplemented in the program. This couldn't have been done without Ken Whitcom. Thanks Ken. Enjoy!
