Describe Sproing

Sproing allows you to experiment with a spring by varying parameters:

A possible goal is to "break" the spring.

Keywords: education, learning, Hooke's Law, harmonic motion, spring, simulation

Use Sproing

Tap i:Help to view this document as an embedded help book

Tap Reset to return to default settings.

adjust Frequency, Amplitude, Damping, Mass and/or Spring constant, and see what happens

Display Refresh controls animation speed

(hint: increasing Amplitude is easiest way I know of to "break" the spring)

(I should add more help)

Sproing Versions

NewtonScript version of Sproing is based on ZetaLisp code (Symbolics 3600) froman electronic encyclopedia projectfor investigating interactive learning environments in the mid 1980's.

Sproing created with NewtDevEnv; it's 1.x/2.x compatible, but works best on a MP2K in portrait orientation.Help book created from HTML by Newt's Cape.http://members.bellatlantic.net/~sweyer/newton/index.htm

Distribute Sproing

Sproing is freeware, and may be distributed freely as long as all of thefiles are included and unmodified.
